(This is a Humorous Addon, and doesn't actually measure "Skill")

What is SkillScore?All over the forums and in the game people are always complaining about PUG leaders who demand you link Achievements, or have a high GearScore. They always say "Bring the player and not the gear!" or "Gear =/= Skill!". They some how want PUG leaders who have never met them before to select players based on skill and not gear. I have become convinced that these people honestly believe they can convey their skill in their whispers to the raid leader.

...OMG They were right! So I wrote SkillScore. This allows players to convey their skill in a whisper and the addon will automatically create a score based on that players skill.

How does it work? It works by measuring the value of words that are used to describe somebody's skill. For example "good" is worth about 45 SkillScore. "amazing" is worth 75 SkillScore. However using a adverb you can increase your skillscore drastically. "very" is also worth 45 SkillScore. But because "very" is an adverb that directly descrives an adjective "very"'s SkillScore directly effects the score of the word its modifying. So "very good" is worth 45 * 45 SkillScore.

How can you help? Well I have to program the words used by SkillScore to detect skill. I can't possibly think of every word. So Please help me test this addon and give me feedback on words I should add/remove etc. I programmed this in only a couple hours last night so the database needs a lot of work.

How do I use SkillScore? to test a player's skill simply use the command "/skillscore <name>". So if you wanted to SkillScore check "Arxaknite" you would type in "/skillscore Arxkanite".

Instead, could you not develop an addon that detects achievements, or more appropriately the one they are asking for, just have it select the achievement from a window, and it either inspects people close enough to see if they have it, or it searches armory for it. Even the one just having them near you would be more effective than looking for words. Even people that have no clue what they are doing can fool current add-on by being an eloquent english major.

Lol, this addon is "REAL" it does work. but it's not intended to be taken seriously.

Maybe if you give a brief explanation on how you calculate the "Skill Level", then it may be a more viable tool to use

I have downloaded it and plan on using it on everyone I meet

Some pre-use feedback: I notice very puts a multiplier on there. Is it possible to jack your gearscore by being very very good? What about being very very very very very very very very very good?

I'll come back in a few hours/days and post some post-use feedback, but I certainly hope I can be helpful in the development of this fun little tool

It's been a little while testing it, but here's my experience so far:

A very fun mod that people are willing to have fun with. sadly, the average player score was woefully low (less than 1k). My only real complaint that involves other people is that my wife scored a 3.7k skillscore while calling me a retard and telling me off.

Technically, I found a few problems. I noticed you can only do a skill check with one post. If they have something long-winded to say, they have to crop it down for the mod, which is usually fine by most people, but less chance to get creative. Maybe it should end with the word "done." Or something...

I found that while I had the addon active, every whisper that went to me before I started a skillscore check to that person ended in a LUA error. It was nothing game-stopping, but it certainly did get irritating.

Lastly, I did not check to see, because my own addons are ridiculously out-dated, but did you check and see if this worked with WoW Instant Messanger?
